My new favorite movie...

This is the perrrfect movie to watch on a date night or something! Seriously.

This is the face I made when Jarrett first asked me to watch it:

But I really don't watch a lot of movies and it takes a lot to keep me entertained for two straight hours--and I can safely say that this movie kept me interested.

I'm really growing to love and appreciate Michael Cera as an actor. He's cute, lovable, and effortlessly hilarious.

This movie will make you fall in love with him I guarantee you. If you love music I recommend this movie as well. The soundtrack features one of my favorite bands, Metric, the producer of Radiohead, as well as Beck. If you are unaware of any of the bands/people I have mentioned--then I invite you to expand your musical vocabulary and check them out! Look, I even provided links!

No but seriously check this movie out; it's worth watching. Watching a guy duke it out against his lover's past exes not only makes for good comedy, but maybe it'll teach your guy a thing or two about romance!

kidding.

thigh highs....dun dun dun...

Betsey Johnson thigh highs!!

I really want these Betsey Johnson over the knee socks, but I'm scared to wear them without looking like some sort of weird retro sexy referee or something!! ARGH. I know since they're so busy the rest of my outfit will have to be extraordinarily plain...

Any suggestions?!?!

LOVE.

Just a few minutes ago, he pissed me off to no avail.

I swear I just wanted to ...

I wanted to.....

hurt him.

by leaving, but I couldn't.

I put the key in the ignition, went down the street

and I started to think.

What am I even mad about?

Then I thought...

man...its Christmas time and ish....(I don't even celebrate this pagan thing but hey)...

Then I thought...
I just can't leave him alone.

So I busted a u-turn

Then I thought....

He holds a part of my spirit...

And I'm always gonna need that.

Book Review: Falling out of Fashion

This book isn't a cheesy fashion book, so wipe that look off yor face. If you're at all interested in the inner workings of the magazine business, this book is sure to keep you interested. I read it in like two days, which is unusual for me because I tend to get easily distracted. I think since this book really is based on a real individual's life, Jane Pratt, the story itself was oh so relatable and highly entertaining. (Jane Pratt is the original founder of Jane).

Anyway, the story follows a quirky individual named Jill and her quest for what most people want: a decent life. It starts in her college years and takes us through her "trying to fit in stage," her "gulllable I'm in love with a rockstar stage," and eventually her magazine industry stage.

After working for a while at a teen publication entitled Cheeky, the magazine folds as parents complain about the tasteless and vulgar content. You see, as an editor Jill's vision was not of a typical glossy featuring stories like "how to win your man back," or "how to lose weight for prom." She featured the real side of life like: "how to lose a loser," or "great super fatty recipes." She was different, and she was wise because fortunately there is always a market for "real shit."

After Cheeky folds, Jill goes to work again on Jill, a spin off of Cheeky, but for an older crowd (ingenius!). The magazine is a great success but eventually Jill is swallowed up into the world of backstabbing publication b*tchiness. Her arch enemy, Ellen Cutter, tears the magazine apart from the inside out--even to the point of Jill being on the chopping block of her own creation. WTF?

However, the story ends happily. :)

I've given enough of it away--go check it out for yourself!!

leopard print seat covers in transit.

Meet Solace.

This is me and Jarrett's new project. We scored the pup from one of my dance sisters (for free, yipee), and we fell in love with him!

However, I guess to combat the notion his name bears, lil dude either doesn't like me, or he's become too high-class to sit in a mediocre 2011 Ford compact car for all of 20 minutes. He totally massacred my new car--with DOG POOP!

Omgah I wish we had taken a photo--of my face. I was so upset I could strangle him, but then he hit me with those undeniable puppy eyes of his. Can't believe not long after we spent HOURS cleaning the inside of my car (carpet interior), I still found myself shopping for doggy sweaters.

(Sigh), this is obviously the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

BLEH.

I'll send you my love....on a wire.

No, I'm not dead. (pause)

butttt I've been ignoring this blog like craaazyyyy (major sad sace).

WHAT CAN I SAY?

This semester was gruesome. Between Spelman and Essence (dance line), I don't know where my mind is; it's all over the place!

However, good news is my Jarrett is back and we're back in action! After the almost year that he spent living in Baltimore, he finally came back! (big grin) We went to my grandmothers house over Thanksgiving break and reunited with my fam.

SHOPPING WISE:

My pockets have been slowing alll theee wayy down. I've been working at Metropark as a seasonal employee lately so I haven't been indulging in my Betsey as usual--but I'll be back on the map soon enough!

In the mean time I've been thrifting mostly, which is more fun anyway. :)

LATERZ. I'll be back.
